4 reasons why you need Ski Aviators in your sunglasses collection

Some items of ski clothing and equipment are timeless, and the classic Ski Aviators are one of them. Luckily for us, VALLON has brought back these sunglasses with panache and style for the modern ski bum.

Here’s 4 reasons why we think you should always have a pair in your ski collection.

  1. 70s are making a comeback

Whatever happened to those ski aviators from decades past? We all had them, and major celebrities Paul Newman and Robert Redford would not be seen skiing without. And then in the blink of an eye they were gone. Thankfully, VALLON made it their mission to bring back these fantastic sunglasses for us oldies (and the next generation) to enjoy once more.

2. New technical upgrade

My old pair of ski aviators have seen better days. The frames have gone brittle, and the quality of the lenses is a mystery.

VALLON’s Ski Aviators bring this classic style into the 21st century, built with lightweight cellulose acetate frames with a glorious high shine finish - just like the shades of decades past that we loved so much. Attention to detail has not been spared with the iconic 2-pin design that really completes the look.

3. Taking care of your eyes

Speaking of those old-school lenses, we are glad to say the days of snow blindness and over-exposure from the sun are long gone. VALLON takes eye comfort and protection seriously, and their Ski Aviators guarantee 100% UVA/UVB protection.

We love the wider shape of these shades that offer a little extra side protection from the sun’s rays on bluebird days. In the mountains, Cat. 3 sun protection is a minimum, and a “non-negotiable” for their design team.

The Ski Aviators are finished with a mirror coating, which has the dual function of reflecting more of that dangerous UV radiation; and giving the additional benefit of looking extra cool.

4. Superb retro colours

Last, but not least: from a veritably retro Teal Green to classic Red, White and Blue ‘Tricolor’ frames, VALLON has the best selection of colors for anyone seeking that truly retro vibe.

It’s a style of sunglasses that I come back to time and time again, and with more than one pair in my collection, I’ll be sure to be adding more colorways soon.
