MGG’s Bringing Ski Ballet Back!

As a team dedicated to the history of skiing, we were very excited when the team at MGG got in touch to tell us about their latest launch…

Ballet’s Back!

“Worm Turn”, “Slow Dog Noodle”, “Outrigger” - you heard right - ski ballet is back! A discipline popularised in the 80s by the likes of Wayne Wong, Scott Brooksbank, John Clendenin, and Eddie Ferguson - freestyle skiing was all the rage… and an Olympic discipline.

MGG are celebrating this iconic era of ski style with the launch of a new campaign collection that “seeks to reclaim the glory of ski ballet”.

Celebrating the most romantic era of alpine skiing

An elegant blend of acrobatics, musicality, and tricks - ski ballet offered something different for audiences pinned to their television screens watching the Winter Olympics of the 80s and 90s. MGG’s Ballet’s Back campaign bridges the past with the present - recreating and elevating these incredible skills 30 years on.

Working with Fabrice Becker (FRA) and Annika Johansson (SWE) - Ski Ballet legends and Olympians of the ‘92 Albertville Games - MGG has released a unique video, celebrating an era where quality, design and longevity were commonplace. And what better way to celebrate than with the re-launch of their Swiss-designed Merino Sweater collection?
